How many sessions will I need?

Some clients may need more than one RTT® session to completely resolve a particular issue. Complex issues may require up to three, though there may be some issues which need more. This isn’t an indication of the effectiveness of the technique but the complexity of the issue and the time needed to resolve it.

If an issue needs more than one session to resolve, each individual session will be effective in resolving aspects of the problem until its all gone.

As some concerns may be symptoms of other issues we will adjust the number of sessions as needed based on the results of earlier sessions.

Where you have multiple unrelated areas you would like to focus on, we will discuss the priority order for these as each session should address one issue at a time.

When will I start to see changes after my RTT® session?

There are 3 types of changes clients can experience with RTT®:

1. Immediate: you feel a massive shift in your feelings, beliefs, thoughts and behaviours in the session.

2. Incremental: you see consistent changes over time, usually within the 28 days following the session but sometimes afterwards.

3. Retroactive: you don’t notice the changes until one day you recognise all of the ways your life, feelings, beliefs, thoughts and/or behaviours are different, yet can’t recall when that happened.

a

What if I think I already know the reasons behind my issue?

There is no way to predict what past experiences a client will revisit when finding the root cause of their issue.

Whether it is what you expect, or something you don’t, gaining clarity on the feelings you felt and beliefs you formed at that time in order to understand how they resulted in the behaviours and actions you have today is the focus of each session.

Sometimes having a different perspective of a known situation can be very revealing. Sometimes realising that these beliefs were formed at an earlier time than you expected is the key to finally resolving an issue you may have already worked on in therapy without being able to resolve.

Trust that your subconscious knows everything and will show you exactly what you need to see to make your session(s) incredibly powerful and life changing.

Is hypnosis safe?

Yes. Hypnotic trance is a natural state of inward focus.

In hypnosis you will achieve an alpha brain wave state where you will be highly aware.

We experience alpha brain waves all the time – when driving a car and not actively telling your hands and feet to control its movements, being engrossed in a film or music, not recalling a journey you have just taken.

a

Will I be in control of what I say and do?

Yes. The heightened state of focus hypnosis gives your mind more control – not less.

In hypnosis, you will only accept suggestions that you agree with and are beneficial to you.

You can’t be made to do anything against your will.

This will be proven during the induction phase of your session, or can be part of the intake call if needed.

a

What if I go back to past events that are painful or scary?

If you go back to past experiences that are traumatic, it’s important to remember that you are not reliving that event, you are simply reviewing it.

Know that you are safe.

I will support you throughout and create a safe place for you to express your emotions and heal. We are a team, working together to make your wishes a reality.

If at any time you want to come out of hypnosis, you will.

If at any time you need to put some distance between what you are viewing and what you are feeling just say so and I can help.

How does our subconscious mind affect us?

The subconscious is the part of your mind that notices and remembers information that you are not actively trying to retain, and influences your behaviour even though you may not realise it.

Though we navigate the world using our conscious mind, the subconscious is always engaged. It picks up everything – good or bad, right or wrong. It doesn’t differentiate, it just accepts information as true.

We give meaning to the events that happen to us, and the meaning we attach to those events forms the blueprint and beliefs that direct our lives. These beliefs, whether positive or negative, true or false, become embedded in our subconscious mind making us who we are today.

Sometimes these beliefs are formed at a time when we are experiencing something negative; or are too young to understand what was happening to/around us; while sometimes these beliefs are from the people around us due to what we see/read/hear.

The subconscious is an extraordinary resource, like a vault that stores everything we have learned or experienced, everything that has shaped how we feel about life, and the reasons why.

By accessing the subconscious through hypnosis, we can easily search for the information needed in order to make sense of past events and resolve current day issues.

Can I do my session(s) in person or remotely?

RTT® is equally effective regardless of how the session is held.

If working remotely, I will send instructions for how to ensure the session is effective and avoids technological interruptions.

For in-person sessions, I can arrange a suitable location for us to meet.

a

What areas do you cover for in-person sessions?

I’m based in Watford; but can travel to other part of Hertfordshire as well as Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and London for in-person sessions.

If you require an in-person session elsewhere, we can discuss this further during the discovery call.

a

Why do you need to know my medical history and medication details?

Due to the nature of certain conditions, hypnosis cannot be performed on everyone.

Those affected by schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, or psychosis have trouble distinguishing between what is real and what is imagined, so revisiting past events runs the risk of them being unable to return to their present day reality.

Those affected by Borderline Personality Disorder may experience brain trauma or cognitive deficits that makes hypnosis unsuitable for them.

People affected by epilepsy should not be hypnotised either as evidence suggests it can induce seizures.

Anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol cannot be treated until these are cleared from their system.

Knowing your medical history and medication ensures that you are safe and able to be successfully taken into and brought out of hypnosis.

a

Can I come off my medication after my session?

I am not a medical doctor so cannot advise on your regime or whether to stop.

Contact your GP for further details. Should you require a statement that identifies the work we have done in sessions to support a desire to stop medication this can be provided.

Always ensure you follow the prescribed procedure to stop taking medication.
